The injury-ravaged New York Giants got a modicum of good news on that front Friday. Neither wide receiver Sterling Shepard (migraines) nor linebacker B.J. Goodson (ankle) is on the team’s final injury report, meaning both will play Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.
Shepard, second on the team with 38 receptions, has not played in the past two games. Shepard will give Geno Smith an established wide receiver to rely upon in his first Giants’ start.
Goodson has had an injury-riddled season. He has not played since Week 7, and has only appeared in five games this season. In his absence, the Giants have gone through a variety of middle linebackers.
Veteran linebacker Jonathan Casillas (neck/ankle) is out and offensive lineman Justin Pugh (back) is doubtful. Both of those players have been dealing with those injuries for several weeks.
Cornerback Eli Apple (hip) was added to the injury report Friday afternoon. He is listed as questionable.
