The New York Giants’ injury report for Wednesday is a ridiculous 10 players deep not counting all the players already placed on IR, but there is a bit of good news in it.
Defensive end Olivier Vernon, who hasn’t played since Week 4 due to an ankle injury, was reportedly a limited participant in practice. Offensive lineman Justin Pugh, who has been experiencing back issues for several weeks and sat out last week against the Los Angeles Rams, was also a limited participant.
A look at the list of players who did not practice tells you why the Giants on Tuesday re-signed Kelvin Sheppard, last season’s starting middle linebacker. B.J. Goodson (high ankle sprain), Devon Kennard (quad) and Keenan Robinson (quad) were all held out of practice. Jonathan Casillas, who hasn’t played since Week 5 due to a neck injury was limited, as was Calvin Munson (quad).
