What didn’t we expect from the Giants? Almost everything that has happened

The theme question from our friends at the SBNation.com mother ship this week is “What I didn't expect from my team this season.” I wonder fans of, or someone who writes about, the New York Giants should answer that question.

I mean, absolutely nothing unexpected has happened this season. Right?

  • The Giants just benched a 14-year veteran and two-time Super Bowl MVP quarterback. We knew that was going to happen. Right?
  • We expected the Giants to be 2-9 and officially eliminated from the playoff race with five games to play. Right?
  • We expected locker room strife with two players suspended. Right?
  • We knew there would be a parade of players to injured reserve led by Odell Beckham Jr. Right?
  • We knew that this season would crawl to an end with coach Ben McAdoo and GM Jerry Reese in serious jeopardy of losing their jobs — a year after the team went 11-5. Of course we did.
  • We knew one of the best defenses in the league in 2016 would spend most of this season playing like one of the worst. Right?

Yeah, this season has gone exactly the way we figured it would.
