The season appears to be over for a pair of promising young players who had been hoping to use the final few games of the season to prove that they did indeed belong on NFL rosters.
New York Giants coach Ben McAdoo said Friday that it appears both linebacker Curtis Grant (knee) and cornerback Donte Deayon (broken forearm) sustained season-ending injuries Thursday against the Washington Redskins.
Grant, an undrafted rookie free agent linebacker, finishes the season with 13 tackles, nine of them solo. Deayon finishes with seven tackles in four games. Both players began the season on the Giants’ practice squad.
Cornerback Janoris Jenkins has a “painful” ankle injury. Linebacker Deontae Skinner has a hamstring injury. Wide receiver Sterling Shepard remains plagued by migraines.
