EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — With a 1-8 record and a pair of embarrassing losses the past two weeks, the key question today is not whether the 11-point underdog Giants can defeat the 6-3 Kansas City Chiefs. It is how hard they will actually try to do so?
Effort by some players was questioned in the team’s 51-17 loss to the Los Angeles Rams and last week’s 31-21 loss to the previously winless San Francisco 49ers. It has led to a week in which coach Ben McAdoo and players had a “brutally honest” film review.
Lineup changes
Rookie offensive tackle Chad Wheeler will make his first career start Sunday at right tackle.
Giants Inactives
WR Sterling Shepard (migraine)
CB Eli Apple
OL Justin Pugh (back)
LB B.J. Goodson (ankle)
