“It was tough at first, but in football you face adversity,” Tomlinson said this week before players broke for their bye. “You have to just continue to work and continue to grind because things like this happen. In the NFL it’s hard to win games.”
GM Jerry Reese talked this week about this season being a hard lesson for the Giants. Coach Ben McAdoo has talked about trying to keep players from getting “numb” to losing.
Tomlinson doesn’t sound like a player who will get used to the feeling.
“Pretty much most games are decided by seven points or less. It’s tough, it’s a tough league, it’s tough to play in,” he said. “You have to continue to grind and you can’t let that de-motivate you. It’ll just get worse if you get de-motivated.”

The Giants reported had a punter-heavy workout this week. Three punters were on the list of seven players the Giants worked out. That list:
LB Trevor Bates; P Matt Darr; LS Anthony Kukwa; DE Darnell Leslie; P Austin Rehkow; DE Devin Taylor; P Matt Wile
This has not been a good season for Giants’ punter Brad Wing, so that is perhaps not surprising. It is also interesting to Devin Taylor, who was cut by the Giants at the end of the preseason on the list.
New York Giants have major decisions to make about future
Figuring out what went wrong this season isn't the New York Giants' biggest problem heading into the bye week. With a 1-6 record, the Giants probably are going to miss the playoffs for the fifth time in six seasons, and co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch have to consider some housecleaning.
