Odell Beckham Won’t Be Benched, Disciplined By New York Giants

As expected

NFL: New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

After his penalized on-field celebration led to a chat with owner John Mara, the New York Giants won’t bench or give any on-field discipline to Odell Beckham Jr. for today’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Beckham was fined $12,154 by the NFL for his peeing like a dog celebration last week against the Philadelphia Eagles. Mara, who said he was “very unhappy” with Beckham’s display, met with the star receiver this week.

This news goes along with what coach Ben McAdoo said earlier in the week, that the team would have a plan in place for any future incidents.

“It’s a poor reflection on me, on the program and on the organization,” coach Ben McAdoo said during the week. “We have a plan for it. We’re going to handle it internally and we have a plan for it moving forward.”

The 0-3 Giants need a victory today to have any realistic chance of making a playoff run.
