The first half of the New York Giants frigid trip to face the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau field did not work out the way many would have envisioned.

It might not show on the score board, but the Giants dominated most of the first half on offense and on defense.

The Giants got the ball to start the game, moving down the field well until a bad drop by Odell Beckham Jr. gave the ball to Aaron Rodgers.

The Giants’ defense immediately responded by handing Rodgers a quick three and out, getting the ball back for the offense. The Giants’ next two possessions ended in field goals after more drops stalled drives.

The Giants were disciplined but harassed Rodgers throughout the first half, getting four sacks. However Green Bay finally got offensive traction on their final two possessions, both ending in touchdown passes to give the Packers the 14-6 lead at the half.

Packers’ receiver Jordy Nelson has been ruled out of the game, while Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie went into the locker room with a thigh contusion.

The Packers will get the ball to start the second half.
