The New York Giants have lost five straight season-opening games, three to the Dallas Cowboys. Going back to 2007, the Giants have lost to Dallas in four consecutive season openers.
Oddsmakers apparently believe both of those undesirable streaks will continue, as they made the Cowboys a 4-point favorite in the opening line for this Sunday’s game in Arlington, Tx.
The game will mark the regular-season debut of Ben McAdoo as coach of the Giants. It will be the first test of the Giants’ revamped defense, bolstered by a $200 million free-agent spending spree. Offensively, the Giants struggled in the preseason. Can they overcome those struggles with the games that count having begun.
Two rookies, quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott will be central to the Dallas offense. There are questions about the Dallas defense, particularly the pass rush.
What are your thoughts, Giants fans? Will this finally be the year the Giants win a season-opener, something they haven’t done since 2010?
