Take the “over” on these Odell Beckham stat predictions

Las Vegas oddsmaker Bovada has released over/under player props for the 2016 NFL season for nearly 500 players, including several New York Giants. For now, let’s look at the ones involving wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

1,350 receiving yards

I think you have to take the “over” on this number. Beckham had 1,450 receiving yards in 15 games a year ago and 1,305 in 12 games as a rookie. His skills aren’t declining, and Sterling Shepard and Victor Cruz aren’t going to steal that many receptions from the Giants’ best playmaker.

95 receptions

Again, I’m taking the “over” and not thinking twice about it. Beckham had 96 receptions last season and 91 in his record-setting 12-game rookie campaign. Provided he plays 16 games, I believe he is headed for his first 100+ reception season.

9.5 receiving touchdown

Make it three-for-three because I’m taking the “over” again. Beckham had 13 touchdowns last season and if the Giants are going to the playoffs this time around they need that from him again. It follows that if he hits the “over” on the first two stats, he should hit the “over” on this one.
