Giants inactives: Jason Pierre-Paul will play vs. Saints

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- As he promised he would, Jason Pierre-Paul will play Sunday vs. the New Orleans Saints. Pierre-Paul, who skipped Thursday's practice with a sore shoulder, will be active. So, too, will defensive end Olivier Vernon (hand).

Here are the inactives:

QB Josh Johnson; RB Paul Perkins; RB Bobby Rainey; OT Will Beatty; WR Roger Lewis; DT Montori Hughes; DT Robert Thomas

With Perkins and Rainey both inactive, the Giants will have only three running backs -- Rashad Jennings, Shane Vereen and Orleans Darkwa. With Thomas (illness) and Hughes both inactive, the only defensive tackles in uniform will be Damon Harrison, Johnathan Hankins and Jay Bromley.

Rookie linebacker B.J. Goodson, inactive last week, will be in uniform. Goodson figures to see action on special teams, replacing J.T. Thomas III, out for the season with a knee injury.

Also notable is that Will Beatty, signed right before the season began after missing all of last season with injuries, will be inactive for the second straight week.
