J.T. Thomas injury: New York Giants' linebacker to IR; Josh Brown reinstated

The Giants put linebacker J.T. Thomas on the injured reserve, reinstate kicker Josh Brown

The New York Giants' have largely avoided injury throughout the preseason. H-Back Will Johnson was placed on the injured reserve to start the season, but that was the only player expected to contribute who won't be available. But when J.T. Thomas III -- who spent almost all of the preseason on the PUP list -- was awkwardly rolled up on while covering a kickoff Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, it just didn't look good.

Today, the Giants placed Thomas on the injured reserve with torn ligaments in his left knee while they reinstated suspended kicker Josh Brown.

The Giants have yet to release Randy Bullock, and now have two kickers on the roster. "Josh will be the kicker this week," McAdoo said of his kicking situation. "Right now we have two kickers on the roster. That could change shortly."

We'll see what move, or moves, the Giants make in the coming week. McAdoo wouldn't rule out bringing back linebacker Jasper Brinkley.
