The New York Giants trimmed their roster to 75 players on Tuesday. Let’s see what the unofficial depth chart looks like as the Giants head into their final preseason game. It might give us some hints how the final 53-man roster will shake out.

Offense

Quarterback

Eli Manning

Ryan Nassib

Logan Thomas

Zach Mettenberger, whom the Giants tried to claim on waivers during the offseason, is again on the waiver wire. It will be interesting to see if the Giants try again.

Running back

Rashad Jennings

Shane Vereen

Andre Williams

Orleans Darkwa, Paul Perkins, Bobby Rainey

Darkwa still looks like the fifth running back. If the Giants keep four, he’s probably out. If they value his special teams work enough, maybe they figure out a way to keep five.

Wide receiver

Odell Beckham, Sterling Shepard

Victor Cruz, Dwayne Harris, Geremy Davis

Tavarres King, Roger Lewis, Darius Powe, Anthony Dable

Easy to see the competition for the final spot here. At this point, King and Lewis would appear to be competing for the sixth spot.

Tight end

Larry Donnell

Will Tye

Will Johnson

Jerell Adams

I’m not sure if Donnell is really the starter, but that’s how the Giants have it listed so that’s what I will go with. I still believe Tye will play more than Donnell, but the really important guy here might be Will Johnson.

Offensive line

LT Ereck Flowers, LG Justin Pugh, C Weston Richburg, RG John Jerry, RT Marshall Newhouse/Will Beatty

Bobby Hart, Adam Gettis, Emmett Cleary, Ryan Seymour, Dillon Farrell, Jake Rodgers, Brett Jones

Hart figures to be the seventh lineman, and with the addition of Beatty my guess is he works primarily inside at guard from here on out. Whether the Giants keep eight linemen or nine I’m not sure. I also have no clue at this point which guys they really prefer.

Defense

Defensive end

Olivier Vernon, Jason Pierre-Paul

Kerry Wynn, Owamagbe Odighizuwa

Romeo Okwara, Stansley Maponga

I will be really surprised at this point if Okwara doesn’t make the 53-man roster.

Defensive tackle

Damon Harrison, Johnathan Hankins

Montori Hughes, Jay Bromley

Jermelle Cudjo, Louis Nix III

Who is the fourth tackle beyond Harrison, Hankins and Bromley? Your guess is as good as mine. It might even be a guy who isn’t on the roster yet.

Cornerback

Janoris Jenkins, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Eli Apple, Trevin Wade, Leon Hall

Donte Deayon, Leon McFadden, Michael Hunter

On the unofficial depth chart the Giants have made available they don’t use a slot corner. Thus, I’m not using it here. I would still like to find a way to get Deayon onto the roster, but my guess is he is headed to the practice squad.

Outside linebacker

Jonathan Casillas, Devon Kennard

J.T. Thomas III, Keenan Robinson, Mark Herzlich

Ishaq Williams, Brad Bars

The Giants have more veteran linebackers than they can use. Who goes? Thomas? Herzlich? Robinson? We’ll see in a couple of days.

Middle linebacker

Jasper Brinkley/Kelvin Sheppard

B.J. Goodson

My guess right now is that Brinkley wins this job. The Giants are really only using the middle linebacker on running downs, and Brinkley is a slightly better run defender. Is there room on the roster for whichever guy loses this competition?

Safety

Landon Collins, Darian Thompson

Nat Berhe, Mykkele Thompson

Andrew Adams, Justin Currie

Adams and Currie have both made pretty strong bids for spots. Can the Giants find room for one of them?
