The New York Giants didn't quite make it through their third preseason game unscathed.
Linebacker Jonathan Casillas and guard John Jerry both left the game with injuries, rib and ankle respectively.
Jerry came back in to the game shortly after leaving the field, having his ankle re-taped. Casillas' injury was more concerning. Bot because a fractured rib could sideline him for a while, and because the linebacker had been playing well throughout pre-season.
While neither practiced Monday, the Giants did get good news.
Casillas avoided a fractured rib (or ribs), giving him just under two weeks to get ready to face the Dallas Cowboys. It's a game he doesn't want to miss.
Giants LB Jonathan Casillas said he's "sore" but ribs aren't fractured and "I'm not going to miss Dallas" on Opening Day.

J.T. Thomas III, fresh off the PUP list and a good game against the Jets -- in which he broke up a screen pass, tipping the ball to for Kerry Wynn's pick six -- took Casillas' place with the starters.
JT Thomas got a ton of reps today, with first-team D and backups.

Meanwhile, Jerry's ankle is also described as "sore" and second-year lineman Bobby Hart filled in for him at right guard with the first team.

Justin Pugh back at LG. #Giants
As Art mentions, Justin Pugh has also returned to practice after missing Saturday's game, as did Mykkele Thompson, who missed the game with a concussion

Elsewhere, safety Darian Thompson and H-Back Will Johnson are working toward returning to the field.
Darian Thompson worked out hard on the side. Will Johnson is doing a lot too.

#Giants FB/TE Will Johnson told me he is still expecting to be ready for Week 1. Medical clearance dependent on full strength in right arm.
