The New York Giants Monday waived/injured fullback Nikita Whitlock (foot) and tight end Matt LaCosse (knee), and waived wide receiver Myles White and long-snapper Tyler Ott. Teams have until Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET to trim their rosters from 90 to 75 players.
These moves leave the roster at 86 players.
Whitlock played in 14 games for the Giants last season. He became a fan favorite when the Giants began using him as a pass-rushing defensive tackle as well as a fullback. White played in 12 games for the Giants last season, catching seven passes. LaCosse was waived/injured in training camp last season, brought back to the practice squad midseason and added to the active roster for the final two games. He ended up catching three passes. Ott played one game for the Giants last season.
Our NFL cuts tracker has been keeping tabs on some of the interesting moves around the league. Ex-Giants Rueben Randle (Philadelphia Eagles) and Geoff Schwartz (Detroit Lions) are among players let go thus far.
