EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The annual MetLife Bowl, or Snoopy Bowl if you prefer, between the New York Giants and New York Jets kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET. This incidentally, is a Jets home game and as such will be televised on WCBS 2.
The game will, as you likely know by now, mark the first game action in nearly two years for Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz. Other than that, the game is significant for the Giants because they have not scored a point in seven quarters and need to establish some rhythm on offense.
Injury updates
Here is your list of Giants who will not play against the Jets
G Justin Pugh (shoulder); S Darian Thompson (shoulder); S Mykkele Thompson (concussion); TE Will Johnson (burner); TE Matt LaCosse (knee)
Without Pugh, who went through a lengthy on-field workout before the game, second-year man Bobby Hart will start at left guard for the second straight week. Nat Berhe will start in safety in place of Darian Thompson.
Without Johnson and LaCosse, perhaps sixth-round pick Jerell Adams and undrafted free agent Ryan Malleck get opportunities to show they can function in the role of blocking tight end.
