Welcome to your first New York Giants game day of 2016, albeit the preseason variety. Your Giants face the Miami Dolphins Friday night at MetLife Stadium (7 p.m. ET) in their preseason opener, their first game action with Ben McAdoo at the helm. Here is how to watch, listen to or bet on Friday’s action.
The Giants announced earlier Friday that quarterback Eli Manning will not play against the Dolphins. That is a McAdoo decision, and one that stands in stark contract to the way former coach Tom Coughlin always handled Manning in preseason openers. Joining Manning on the sideline will be Victor Cruz (groin), Kerry Wynn (groin), Keenan Robinson (groin), Jay Bromley (ankle/PUP) and J.T. Thomas (hamstring/PUP).
Ryan Nassib will start at quarterback for the Giants and figures to play well into the second half before giving way to Logan Thomas. The game will provide a good opportunity to look at many of the Giants young players and to assess position battles like those at wide receiver, running back, tight end and reserve safety spots behind Landon Collins and Darian Thompson.
