After a false start penalty on the NFL for the field fiasco that led to the cancellation of the Hall of Fame Game last Sunday, the 2016 NFL preseason really will kick off Thursday night.

Six games are on tap Thursday night, with the nationally televised game (NFL Network) featuring the New England Patriots hosting the New Orleans Saints at 7:30 p.m. ET. In that game, it is expected that New England quarterback Tom Brady will sit out. Jimmy Garoppolo, expected to start the first four games while Brady serves his Deflategate suspension, will get first-team snaps for the Patriots.

The other games on the schedule are as follows:

Washington Redskins at Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Philadelphia Eagles, Carolina Panthers at Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville Jaguars at New York Jets, Denver Broncos at Chicago Bears.

If you really can’t help yourself and you just have to lay money on these games, check the SB Nation NFL Odds page.

Use this as your Thursday evening thread to discuss any of the football action.
