The New York Giants Wednesday completed their final practice before Friday’s preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins. Here are a few takeaways.
Cruz sits out
As expected after he left Tuesday’s practice with a tight groin, wide receiver Victor Cruz did not practice Wednesday. Cruz would appear unlikely to play Friday night. Linebacker Keenan Robinson (groin) and safety Nat Berhe (hamstring) also did not practice.

What’s a little rain?
The Giants finished practice outdoors despite rain that fell during the final few minutes of the workout.

Josh Brown’s big boot
Well, Beckham didn’t have much luck when it came to field goals on Wednesday. It sounds like placekicker Josh Brown did, though.
Tom Quinn says he believes Josh Brown hit a 63-yarder in practice. Not sure of exact length. #Giants
