Giants training camp, 8/10: Victor Cruz sits, other takeaways

Next up for Giants is their preseason opener

The New York Giants Wednesday completed their final practice before Friday’s preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins. Here are a few takeaways.

Cruz sits out

As expected after he left Tuesday’s practice with a tight groin, wide receiver Victor Cruz did not practice Wednesday. Cruz would appear unlikely to play Friday night. Linebacker Keenan Robinson (groin) and safety Nat Berhe (hamstring) also did not practice.

School remains in session

Odell Beckham continues to school first-round pick Eli Apple.

Wait? What? Odell Beckham isn’t perfect?

It appears Josh Brown shouldn’t worry about his job.

What’s a little rain?

The Giants finished practice outdoors despite rain that fell during the final few minutes of the workout.

Josh Brown’s big boot

Well, Beckham didn’t have much luck when it came to field goals on Wednesday. It sounds like placekicker Josh Brown did, though.
