The New York Giants’ Wednesday practice will be their final one prior to Friday’s preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins. The workout begins at 10:40 a.m. ET at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center and, weather-permitting, will be open to the public.
Training camp is winding down. After Wednesday, only one public practice will remain. That will be Sunday at 11:10 a.m.
What to watch
Victor Cruz? It seems unlikely that Cruz will practice Wednesday after leaving Tuesday’s workout early with a tight groin.
Other injured players? Linebacker Keenan Robinson (groin) did not practice at all on Tuesday and safety Nat Berhe (slight hamstring) only took part in the walk-through portion at the end of practice. Will either of them participate on Wednesday?
Ryan Nassib. The backup quarterback is expected to play extensively Friday night against the Miami Dolphins, and it will be easier to feel good about that if he has a good practice Wednesday. Reports have indicated that Nassib has been inconsistent throughout training camp, and that he had a rough practice on Tuesday.
Those young wide receivers. Roger Lewis, Darius Powe and Tavarres King can’t all make the roster. They are all, however, making it increasingly difficult for the Giants to part with any of them. Let’s see who shines today.
The education of Eli Apple. Every day seems to bring some good, probably very good, from the first-round pick. It also brings some bad, and perhaps a lesson or two from Odell Beckham. What will today bring?
