Can Eli Manning finally win a regular-season MVP Award? Bovada lists him at 25-1

Giants’ QB has never been a serious candidate

NFL: New York Giants-OTA Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has a pair of Super Bowl MVP awards. He has, however, never been a serious regular-season MVP candidate in his 12 NFL seasons. Will 2016 be the year that changes?

Oddsmakers from Bovada list Manning with a 25-1 shot at the award this season.

Aaron Rodgers (4-1), Ben Roethlisberger (7-1), Cam Newton (15-2), Russell Wilson (8-1), Tom Brady (9-1), Andrew Luck (12-1) and Carson Palmer (12-1) are given better odds by Bovada.

With the switch from the riskier down field offense of Kevin Gilbride to the more completion-oriented offense of Ben McAdoo, Manning has had two outstanding statistical seasons in a row.

There is no reason to think the offense won’t be successful in 2016. Manning has wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard, Dwayne Harris and perhaps Victor Cruz at his disposal, along with tight end Will Tye and pass-catching back Shane Vereen.

Could this be Manning’s MVP year? Your thoughts, Giants fans.
