Josh Norman, like you had to know he would, fired back Thursday night at New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. saying Norman was only relevant because of him.
"He’s relevant because of a catch," Norman said, referring to Beckham’s outrageous one-handed grab against the Cowboys in 2014. "But we’re not going to go there. We’re not into the war of words. I’m really not, man."
As for Beckham's claim that Norman left the Carolina Panthers and signed with the Washington Redskins to ensure he would face Beckham twice a year, Norman scoffed.
"Five for 75," said Norman, referring to the contract he got to sign with Washington.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think this sideshow is ridiculous and I'm already tired of it. The way things unfolded during last season's Panthers-Giants game was embarrassing, especially for Beckham and the Giants. And yes, I say that remembering that the whole mess was instigated by the Panthers. To be honest, this whole "relevant" nonsense is also embarrassing to Beckham.
Sorry, but as great a player as he is he needs to move on. These two guys obviously don't like each other. So what? It's not like that's a unique circumstance. In the GQ article Beckham complained about "more drama, more commotion in my life" being created because every move in his social life becomes a story.
Memo to Odell: Maybe you can't do anything about that, but you can do something about stuff like this. Nothing good, well, except for creating stuff for people like me to write about, comes from the nonsense you're spewing about Norman. Use your talent to deal with Norman. Let the verbal war go, and just go embarrass him by having a great game against the Redskins on Sept. 25.
