New York Giants' Eli Manning No. 47 on NFL Network Top 100 list

Quarterback is first Giant to be recognized

Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

Eli Manning on Wednesday became the first member of the New York Giants named to he NFL Network Top 100 Players of 2016 list The quarterback checked in at No. 47.

This is the first time Manning has made the list, voted on by NFL players, since 2013. He was No. 43 that year.

The 35-year-old Manning is coming off one of the best statistical seasons of his 12-year career. He threw a career-high 35 touchdown passes and had a career-best 93.6 passer rating. He passed for 4,436 yards and completed 62.6 percent of his attempts.

"Eli Manning, he's an assassin to me," Cowboys wide receiver Terrance Williams said in the video on NFL.com. "He can make throws from the left hash, right hash, down the field. (He's) a championship-poised quarterback that has been through it all. I just think he has the right package to be in the top 100."

Odell Beckham Jr. was No. 32 a year ago. Where will he rank on the list this year?

There is often disagreement among analysts about where to rank Manning among NFL quarterbacks. It is nice to see his peers recognize him despite the Giants' string of losing seasons.
