In some ways you can can look at New York Giants cornerback Leon McFadden and see just another mistakes by an inept Cleveland Browns organization.
McFadden, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound cornerback, was a third-round pick by Cleveland in 2013. Select a player in the third round and you are hoping to get one who will contribute as a rookie and become a long-term part of your roster. Instead, the Browns cut McFadden after one season.
McFadden has been an NFL vagabond since. He has been with the New York Jets, played seven games for the San Francisco 49ers, been with the Arizona Cardinals and is now a Giant.

2015 Season in Review
Released by the 49ers at the end of the preseason, McFadden landed on the practice squad of the Cardinals. The Giants signed him in December and he appeared in two games.
2016 Season Outlook
McFadden, 25, is competing for a reserve cornerback spot at the bottom of the roster. Coming out of spring workouts, his primary competition appears to be Trevin Wade, Tramain Jacobs and Donte Deayon. Though McFadden never lived up to his draft status he continues to get opportunities, which tells you there is something about him that intrigues NFL talent evaluators. Can he be a useful player for the Giants? We will find out in training camp. The Giants found Jacobs useful at times on special teams last year, and are intrigued by Deayon. There is also the possibility the team will add a veteran corner before the season starts. So, the odds don't appear to be in McFadden's favor.
