When the Baltimore Ravens signed Eric Weddle and released Will Hill, there was immediately speculation that he could find his way back to the New York Giants.
After all, the Giants desperately need a good, proven, free safety, Hill is both of those things, and Steve Spagnuolo is familiar with him from his time coaching defensive backs in Baltimore.
But there just had to be a catch. Hill has been one of the top safeties in the NFL since the Giants gave him his first chance in 2012. But since then he has also been suspended again and again, ultimately being cut by the Giants.
He was picked up by the Ravens and seemed to have turned his life around, but Wednesday afternoon the past came rushing back.
Ravens' S Will Hill has been suspended 10 games for violating NFL's substance abuse policy, league sources @caplannfl and me.

Hill only has one strike left before he gets suspended for an entire year, but one has to wonder if he is going to get even that last chance. And for the record, I'd be stunned if the Giants bring him back for any number of games.
