Robert Ayers is officially a former member of the New York Giants. Ayers agreed to terms on Friday with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Buccaneers signed former Giant Robert Ayers: 3-years, 19.5 million, could get to 21 million, per source. Pass rusher for Bucs.

Ayers had a career-year for the Giants in 2015, with nine sacks. The Giants, however, chose to bring back Jason Pierre-Paul and sign Olivier Vernon to a mega-contract in an effort to revamp a defense that was the worst in the NFL last season.
Ayers had 14 of his 26 career sacks during his two seasons with the Giants. The seven-year veteran is 31. He spent the first five seasons of his career with the Denver Broncos.
Did the Giants do the right thing by letting Ayers go and signing Vernon, who is still only 25? Whether they did or not, good luck to Ayers as he continues his career in Tampa Bay.
