NFL picks against the point spread, Week 14

Last weeks was a rough one for Jesse, can he rebound in Week 14?

NFL: San Diego Chargers at Houston Texans
The Texans are on the road this week. So, their fans actually have to watch Brock Osweiler.
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Yikes! Last week was not my best week, just like the New York Giants, but hopefully we’ll both come back strong this weekend.

Oakland Raiders (+3) at Kansas City Chiefs

I’ve been saying this all year, the Chiefs are a legitimately good team. They are also the winningest team over the last season and half in the league. The return of Justin Houston will only help.

Pick: Kansas City Chiefs

Denver Broncos (+1) at Tennessee Titans

Denver needs this win to keep pace. Marcus Mariotta has been absolutely amazing in the red zone and the Titans run game is good, but I think the Broncos have enough defense.

Pick: Broncos

San Diego Chargers (+1) at Carolina Panthers

The Panthers got absolutely embarrassed last week and I’d expect a bounce back performance here. How the mighty have fallen.

Pick: Panthers

Houston Texans (+6) at Indianapolis Colts

I can’t watch any games involving the Texans. Brock Brock Osweiler is absolutely terrible.

Pick: Colts

Cincinnati Bengals (-6) at Cleveland Browns

The Browns are coming off a bye against a divisional opponent desperate for a win. I don’t know if they’ll get it, but I think they’ll give the Bengals all they can handle.

Pick: Browns

Pittsburgh Steelers (-2) at Buffalo Bills

Steelers are rolling.

Pick: Steelers

Arizona Cardinals (+1.5) at Miami Dolphins

Dolphins played poorly last week and I think they’ll bounce back. They also get the Cardinals traveling across country and playing the early game.

Pick: Dolphins

Chicago Bears (+8) at Detroit Lions

Lions don’t typically blow anyone out and the Bears can run the ball well.

Pick: Bears

Minnesota Vikings (-3.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars

Vikings defense is too much for the Jaguars.

Pick: Vikings

New Orleans Saints (+2.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This is perhaps the most important non-Giants game of the week for Giants fans. Go Saints!

Pick: Buccaneers

Washington (-1) at Philadelphia Eagles

Washington is the better team. The Eagles could do the Giants a solid here, but their defense is fading after a terrific start and I don’t think they’ll hang here with Washington.

Pick: Redskins

New York Jets (+2.5) at San Francisco 49ers

If this what the Jets have been reduced to? Being underdogs to a team that had what 4 yards passing in the first half last week. The Jets’ defensive line was supposed to dominate all year and hasn’t lived up to the hype, much like the Giants’ offense.

Pick: Jets

Seattle Seahawks (-2.5) at Green Bay Packers

Pick: Seahawks

Atlanta Falcons (-6) at Los Angeles Rams

Maybe we’re seeing the reason Jeff Fisher didn’t play Jared Goff for so long. 5.4 yards per pass attempt is no good.

Pick: Falcons

Dallas Cowboys (-3) at New York Giants

No JPP might be a problem for the Giants against the league’s best offensive line. The bigger problem is the pitiful offense. This offense needs to figure it out and fast. Eli Manning needs to play better, the line needs to block better, the running backs need to stop leaving yards on the field, the WR are little and need to block better, and there probably needs to be some more imaginative play designs. I guess there’s many reasons why the Giants offense is struggling. Can they finally get on track? They have to score more than 30 eventually, don’t they?

Pick: Cowboys

Baltimore Ravens (+7) at New England Patriots

Ravens tough run defense should be enough to keep this game close.
