The New York Giants are losing second-year wide receiver Geremy Davis from their practice squad. Davis, who has spent the season on the Giants’ practice squad, is joining the 53-man roster of the San Diego Chargers. Art Stapleton of The Record was first to report that the Chargers would be Davis’s destination.
Davis, a 2015 sixth-round pick, played 10 games for the Giants last season. He caught only two passes for 21 yards, and was inactive over the season’s final six games.
This season, Davis lost out to journeyman Tavarres King and undrafted free agent Roger Lewis Jr. in the competition for the final wide receiver roster spots.
The Giants still have undrafted free agent wide receiver Darius Powe, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound rookie from Cal, on their practice squad.
Wide receiver Kevin Norwood is reportedly being added to the practice squad. Norwood caught nine passes for the Seattle Seahawks in 2014. He played in nine games.
