NFL schedule, Week 5: Viewing guide to Sunday's games

Check out the early games today as the New York Giants play the late game.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

With the New York Giants set to face the Green Bay Packers for the primetime game, let us get caught up to speed with the early games from around the league.

1 p.m. games

Philadelphia Eagles (3-0) vs Detroit Lions (1-3); England Patriots (3-1) vs Cleveland Browns (0-4);; Houston Texans (3-1) vs Minnesota Vikings (4-0); Chicago Bears (1-3) vs Indianapolis Colts (1-3); New York Jets (1-3) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1); Tennessee Titans (1-3) vs Miami Dolphins (1-3)

The first-place Eagles will try to remain undefeated against the struggling Detroit Lions. As a Giants fan, you have to start to get concerned. Meanwhile, Tom Brady will make his season debut against the pitiful Browns as if life wasn't unfair to them already.

4:05 p.m. game

Atlanta Falcons (3-1) vs Denver Broncos (4-0)

The Falcons are quietly having a nice start to the season, thanks to the not-so-quiet Julio Jones. The Broncos will also try to remain undefeated and any win over an NFC opponent has to be a good thing for the Giants.

4:25 p.m. games

Cincinnati Bengals (2-2) vs Dallas Cowboys (2-2); Buffalo Bills (2-2) vs Los Angeles Rams (3-1); San Diego Chargers (1-3) vs Oakland Raiders (3-1)

The only true game of interest for the Giants is in Dallas. They have been weathering the storm quite well after their week one loss to the Giants and now find themselves with the same record. The Rams are in a surprising position of first place in the NFC West, but odds are this will not last very long.

Use this as the open thread until the Giants kick it with the Packers.
