Logan Thomas is back with the New York Giants, signed once again on Tuesday to the team’s practice squad. Long-snapper Tyler Ott, signed last week in the event Zak DeOssie was unable to play against the Los Angeles Rams, had his practice squad contract terminated.
Let’s hope that Thomas has learned to keep a suitcase packed. Here is his rather incredible Giants’ timeline.
6/17 — Claimed off waivers; B.J. Daniels waived
9/3 — Waived
9/5 — Signed to practice squad
9/13 — Practice squad contract terminated; LB Deontae Skinner signed
10/4 — Signed to practice squad to replace Skinner.
10/5 — Released from practice squad to make room, strangely, for Skinner
10/25 — Signed to practice squad
This is how it goes for a number of practice squad players around the league. Thomas seems to be this year’s bouncing ball, made expendable by the presence of Josh Johnson as the third quarterback on the 53-man roster.
Current practice squad
WR Geremy Davis; OL Adam Gettis; OL Laurence Gibson; OG Jon Halapio; CB Michael Hunter; DE Stansly Maponga; LB Eric Pinkins; WR Darius Powe; QB Logan Thomas; LB Ishaq Williams; CB Donte Deayon (Practice Squad IR)
Checking in on ex-Giants
- Linebacker Jasper Brinkley had a a tryout Tuesday with the New England Patriots.
- Cornerback Leon McFadden has been added to the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad. The Cowboys also worked out former Giants’ defensive tackle Montori Hughes.
