Giants' coaching search: Odds favor Josh McDaniels getting the job

Who do the oddsmakers think will be the next coach of the Giants?

We know Sean Payton won't be the next coach of the New York Giants. We know who some of the candidates are. Oddsmakers from Bovada have listed New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels (5/2) and Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo (3/1) as the favorites.

Here is the list.

The odds

Josh McDaniels 5/2
Steve Spagnuolo 3/1
Ben McAdoo 7/2
Hue Jackson 7/1
Doug Marrone 7/1
Sean McDermott 8/1
Jon Gruden 20/1
Nick Saban 20/1

These odds, of course, are not based on any real information regarding what might happen. They are based on the bookmaker's ability to drum up betting interest. Still, I find it fascinating that Spagnuolo is giving slightly better odds than Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo.

Gruden and Saban are pretty obligatory add-ons here.

Two questions. First, how can this list have any validity if Bill Cowher isn't on it? And I do hope you realize I am kidding. Second, what are the odds the next head coach of the Giants isn't even on this list?
