When the New York Giants officially name Ben McAdoo head coach reports are that former Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin will be the offensive coordinator and that the team will keep Steve Spagnuolo as defensive coordinator. What, however, about the rest of the coaching staff?

McAdoo offers the Giants some continuity. That does not, however, mean he will want to keep all of the assistant coaches who worked under Tom Coughlin. Or, for that matter, that those coaches will want to stay and work with McAdoo.

Linebackers coach Jim Herrmann has already moved on, accepting the same job with the Indianapolis Colts.

Offensive line coach Pat Flaherty has reportedly spoken with the Colts and Minnesota Vikings. Flaherty was offensive line coach for Coughlin's entire 12-year tenure.

The Houston Texans are apparently interested in Giants' wide receivers coach Sean Ryan for that same post.

Safeties coach Dave Merritt, who was also with the Giants during Coughlin's entire tenure, could also be heading to the Colts.

There is no way of knowing what the complete fallout will look like. McAdoo hasn't even been officially promoted yet. Stick around, though, and we will keep you up to date the best we can.
