Further reinforcements for the New York Giants' beleaguered safety corps could be on the way. When former Giant Stevie Brown was cut by the Houston Texans, the speculation that the Giants could be a potential landing spot began almost immediately.

That speculation seems to have come to fruition Saturday evening with a report from Kimberly Jones that Brown would be coming back to New York to take a physical and sign a contract.

A former journeyman safety, Brown had a breakout campaign in 2012, when he totaled 76 tackles and recorded eight (8) interceptions. Despite high expectations, Brown was unable to follow up in 2013 when a torn ACL ended his year in the preseason. Brown had a 2014 season that could best be described as "up and down". He was clearly limited in his first year back from the ACL reconstruction and he struggled to find a balance between the aggression that lead to the terrific interception total with the discipline to limit big plays.

Stay tuned for more on this news as it develops.
