Good evening New York Giants fans!

Who's ready for the most reasonable facsimile of actual football we will see before September 13th. That's right, its time for this year's annual pre-season game against the New York Jets, the game that has become known as the "Snoopy Bowl".

This promises to be the most important of the meaningless games. First and foremost it establishes bragging rights between the cross-stadium rivals over which team's backups can pull out the win. But also this is the third preseason game, the game that is generally used as the "dress rehersal" for the regular season. This is the game that has the starters play the most snaps, the teams actually game plan -- a bit -- for their opponents, and the coaches show actual glimpses of their new schemes and wrinkles for the season.

For the Giants in particular, this game provides a couple key tests before the Giants kick off in anger against the Cowboys to start the regular season.

The Jet's potent front seven and aggressive scheme will give the best test to date for the young offensive line. In particular, for the trio of Ereck Flowers, Justin Pugh, and Weston Richburg (if he plays), who the Giants are hoping to be the foundation for their offensive line going forward.

Also, the Jets boast a smothering secondary that will test the a passing game that has yet to find its groove. while the snap limitations imposed on Odell Beckham, Victor Cruz, and Rueben Randle are done to make sure they get to the regular season healthy, their limited time with Eli has lead to issues with timing.

Use this as your open thread for the game and stay tuned for all the news and updates throughout the game.
