You can stop pining for Evan Mathis now, New York Giants fans. He definitely will not be joining Big Blue. Mathis on Tuesday agreed to an one-year, $4 million contract with the Denver Broncos.
Broncos fans at SB Nation's Mile High Report are rejoicing at the news that the 33-year-old Mathis chose Denver.
The Giants? They are set at three spots on the line, with Weston Richburg at center, Justin Pugh at left guard and Ereck Flowers at left tackle. They have been shuffling John Jerry, Marshall Newhouse and Geoff Schwartz on the right side, and that continued during Tuesday's practice. Brandon Mosley remains out with a back injury, so among the players on the current roster the right side alignment will likely come from two of those three players.
There is also the possibility that the Giants' right tackle is currently on someone else's roster. We will have to wait until roster cuts are made to find that out.
