Mykkle Thompson injury: Rookie safety out for year with Achilles tear

The New York Giants' fears about rookie safety Mykkele Thompson have been confirmed. The fifth-round pick is out for the season with a torn Achilles tendon suffered during Friday's 23-10 preseason loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. That news came from coach Tom Coughlin during a Saturday conference call. Here is more of what the coach had to say.
