Good morning, Giants fans! Here are headlines to follow for your weekend.
Phil Simms -- JPP should have taken Giants' help
Legendary Giants quarterback Phil Simms stated on Thursday that defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul should have accepted the Giants' help when it was offered. As was previously reported, two Giants representatives -- Jesse Armstead and Ronnie Barnes -- went to see the former Pro Bowl lineman, but were rebuffed in their efforts to do so. While Pierre-Paul isn't under contract and can technically make his own choice, Simms said on SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio that the Giants would have been by Pierre-Paul's side to help make the best decision for him and that he should have trusted them.
"I just know them, John Mara, everybody involved with the Giants, the Tisches, they run this team the exact same way their fathers ran the football team, with great compassion, of course knowledge and business savvy and all of those things," Simms said. "That’s why I would have been different because I believe that strongly in the people that run the organization."
