The Dallas Cowboys were already expected to be without pass-rushing defensive end Greg Hardy, suspended due to a domestic violence issue, when they open the 2015 NFL season against the New York Giants this fall. Now, the Cowboys will also be without middle linebacker Rolando McClain.

McClain was one of four players suspended by the league on Thursday afternoon. He will sit the first four games of the season due to a violation of the league's substance abuse policy.

San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates (four games, substance abuse), Green Bay Packer defensive end Datone Jones (one game, substance abuse) and New York Jets defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson (four games, substance abuse) were the others.

The Giants catch a break here with the Dallas defense at much less than full strength. After three straight playoff-less seasons and two straight losing ones, they can use a little bit of good fortune. Now, can they take advantage of the weakened Cowboys?
