Lists, lists and more lists. This is the time of year when NFL writers will come up with lists of just about anything they can think of. With seemingly everyone else doing top 100 player lists, Pete Prisco of CBS Sports has come up with his own top 100 players list, and there are three New York Giants on it. Wide receiver Odell Beckham is No. 13, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is No. 59 and defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins is No. 90.
Let's take a closer look at each Giants, and see if Prisco has put them in the appropriate range.
Odell Beckham (13th)
Prisco has Beckham as the top-rated rookie, and just above him are Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant (No. 11) and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning (No. 12). Right below Beckham are Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The closest rookie to Beckham on Prisco's list is Oakland Raiders linebacker Khalil Mack, who checks in at No. 35.
Jason Pierre-Paul (59th)
For reference, Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks is No. 53, Terrell Suggs of the Baltimore Ravens in No. 56, San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Joe Staley is No. 60 and Dallas Cowboys guard Zack Martin in No. 61. Defensive ends ranked ahead of JPP are J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans (No. 1), Robert Quinn of the St, Louis Rams (No. 26), Michael Bennett of the Seattle Seahawks (No. 30), Cameron Wake of the Miami Dolphins (No. 34), Calais Campbell of the Arizona Cardinals (No. 44), Sheldon Richardson of the New York Jets (No. 47) and Fletcher Cox of the Philadelphia Eagles (No. 55).
Johnathan Hankins (No. 90)
To be honest, I'm just glad to see someone recognize how good Hankins is and put him on a list like this. For reference, Haloti Ngata, now of the Detroit Lions, is No. 77, and Kyle Williams of the Buffalo Bills is No. 100.
