Good morning, New York Giants fans! Here are some Thursday morning headlines to help you get your Giants fix.
Beckham: 'No problem' with teamates
Wide receiver Odell Beckham offered reassurance on Wedneday that he has no issues with his teammates.
"I have no problem with nobody on the team or inside or anything," Beckham told The Post on Wednesday night in an exclusive and brief interview.
Beckham recently told ESPN that he was tired of hearing remarks from his teammates about his missed practice time, then skipped a scheduled session with the media on the final day of mini-camp.
Beckham also refuted the idea that he is thin-skinned.
"It was more of, you know, I feel like you can't take someone's words and you can't really tell the tone they're saying," Beckham said after a two-hour autograph and photo session for Steiner Sports at Roosevelt Field Mall on Long Island. "I'm like ‘Yeah, it gets a bit frustrating when teammates joke with you' and it gets written that he's frustrated with teammates and it's like it's not how it sounds. It's weird sometimes."
Valentine's View: Let's cut the kid a little slack. He is, after all, still a 22-year-old kid. And he has to learn to handle attention and adulation none of us can possibly understand, like now being featured on the Sunday Night Football open. Nobody handles everything perfectly at 22, or even 42. Beckham is with an excellent organization, and has the right mentors in players like Victor Cruz and Eli Manning. I believe he wants to conduct himself the right way -- he's just still figuring out how to do that.
Jason Pierre-Paul getting skinny?
Jason Pierre-Paul has occasionally posted workout photos and videos on his Instagram account to show that he is working hard despite not having attended offseason workouts with the Giants after being hit with the franchise tag. Now, Pierre-Paul has revealed that he is trying to slim down to 265 pounds.
"If anybody had any concern of what I'm weighing right now, well guess what numbers don't lie here it is," JPP wrote on his Instagram account. "My playing weight this year, I'm dropping 10lb baby. I want to be 265lb lets get it."
Pierre-Paul is listed at 278 pounds and admitted back in 2013 that he weighed as much as 285 pounds. As long as Pierre-Paul doesn't drop so much weight that it affects his run defense this has to be a good thing.
