'Big Blue Chat' Episode 13: Reviewing the Giants' 2015 NFL Draft class

What we liked, and didn't like, about this Giants' draft.

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

Episode 13 of 'Big Blue Chat with Pat & Ed' is now online, and in this one Pat Traina (Bleacher report/Inside Football) and I review the 2015 NFL Draft for the New York Giants.

Pat and I go pick-by-pick thru the Giants' 2015 draft class and share our thoughts on what we liked and didn't like.

Let me summarize:

  • We like the Ereck Flowers pick.
  • We love the Landon Collins pick. Pat referred to the move up to select him as "brilliant." Yours truly called it "really, really outstanding."
  • We think the Giants struck gold with Owamagbe Odighizuwa in Round 3.
  • We think the pick of Mykkele Thompson was an unexpected one, but you can applaud the Giants for believing they had to have the player and doing what was necessary to make sure they got him. I still believe the Giants could have gotten Thompson later.
  • We believe the Geremy Davis pick is as much about special teams as it is about the depth at wide receiver. Like it or not, gang, reserve players need to be able to contribute on special teams. When they can't, and they complain about it like Corey Washington did, that isn't going to help them stick around.
  • We are both intrigued by the seventh-round selection of 20-year-old offensive guard Bobby Hart.
