Good morning, New York Giants fans! Here are a few Memorial Day weekend headlines for you.
Bennett Jackson eager for shot at safety
After a rookie season aborted by a knee injury that forced him to injured reserve, 2014 sixth-round draft pick Bennett Jackson has no qualms about the Giants asking him to move from cornerback to safety.
"At the end of the day, I’m a DB,’’ Jackson said. "I think my strengths are cover skills, I got good speed and I got good ball skills. The thing it’s gonna take for me to get out there and make an impact is, I just got to learn the defense and really just communicate the calls fluently. That’s really the main thing with learning a new defense, you got to be accountable and allow people to trust that you’re gonna be out there and really just get the job done.’’
The Giants are among the NFL teams who could be compelled to do 'Hard Knocks.' Dan Graziano of ESPN does not expect that to happen "because the Giants are something of a favored franchise and John Mara wields a great deal of power in the league." I would agree.
SB Nation has named the 'X-factor' players for all 32 teams. No surprise they chose Victor Cruz for the Giants.
