2015 NFL Mock Draft: Bengals Pick Malcom Brown (DT, Texas) 21st overall

New, comments

The Bengals take one of the premier defensive tackles with the 21st pick of our community mock draft.

The twenty-first pick of the 2015 Big Blue View Community Mock Draft is in!

21) Cincinnati Bengals

GM - NYG 28

Pick - Malcom Brown

Explanation

The Bengals identity has always been playing good defense and a solid power running game. With Geno Atkins not reclaiming his dominant defensive tackle status yet, and the Bengals needing more beef in the middle of their defensive line to stop the likes of Leveon Bell, Brown projects as a player that can step in and contribute from day one and can fill out their line alongside Atkins, recently resigned Michael Johnson, and Carlos Dunlap. I also considered taking D.J. Humphries and even pairing A.J. Green with Dorial Green-Beckham.

Raptor's View

Based on how the board has fallen so far, I can't argue with this pick. I also couldn't argue with NYG's other choices either. Brown could start right away for the Bengals, and his blend of size and athleticism would give their defense a lot of flexibility. If Brown plays up to his potential and Atkins returns to form, that is a scary defensive interior.

Now the Bengals need to hope that they don't accidentally turn in a card saying "Malcolm Brown, Texas" and draft the Longhorns' running back instead of their defensive tackle.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are officially On The Clock!
