Center Shaun O'Hara is the best free-agent signing ever by the New York Giants, according to your votes. O'Hara received 54 percent (284) of the 527 votes cast in his finals matchup with Bart Oates.
O'Hara defeated Kerry Collins and Antrel Rolle to reach the finals. After four seasons with the Cleveland Browns, O'Hara became a Giant in 2004. He went to the Pro Bowl three times in seven seasons with New York, anchored a line for a time considered the best in football, and earned a Super Bowl ring.
This was an interesting, fun exercise that -- at least for me -- reached an unexpected conclusion.
You can probably tell by the seedings, but when our free agency bracket challenge began I expected a final-round matchup of Antrel Rolle and Plaxico Burress. It is apparent that I misjudged the support for Rolle, ousted by O'Hara in the semifinals. I also misjudged how many people would remember what a tremendous, important player Oates was.
Another surprising thing to me was that there was such an outpouring of support for Kareem McKenize.
Your thoughts on O'Hara's victory, and this little exercise in general, Giants fans?
