Giants free agency bracket challenge: Oates defeats Burress by ONE vote, meets O'Hara in finals

Finals will pit Bart Oates vs. Shaun O'Hara.

Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports

Well, who says your individual vote doesn't mean much. Bart Oates has advanced to the finals in our New York Giants free agency bracket challenge, defeating Plaxico Burress by one vote. Yes, one vote. Oates received 295 votes, to 294 for Burress. Pretty amazing!

Something else that's amazing is that our final round matchup will pit a pair of centers -- Oates and Shaun O'Hara. Wherever they are, David Baas and J.D. Walton are cringing. Who predicted this matchup when our bracket challenge began?

More importantly now, who will win?

Oates, who defeated Antonio Pierce and Burress to reach the finals, was a Giants from 1985-1993 after beginning his professional career in the USFL. He made the Pro Bowl three times in nine seasons with the Giants and anchored an offensive line that helped win two Super Bowl titles.

O'Hara defeated Kerry Collins and Antrel Rolle to reach the finals. After four seasons with the Cleveland Browns, O'Hara became a Giant in 2004. He went to the Pro Bowl three times in seven seasons with New York, anchored a line for a time considered the best in football, and earned a Super Bowl ring.

Vote in the poll and let us know which player you believe was the best Giants' free-agent signing of all time. Poll results will be announced Monday morning.
