How weird would it be if Osi Umenyiora continued his NFL career playing home games at MetLife Stadium ... as a member of the New York Jets?
That, apparently, is a possibility as the former New York Giants defensive end reportedly met with Jets officials in Florham Park on Wednesday.
Umenyiora, 33, spent the last two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons after nine years with the Giants. He had the worst season of his career in 2014 with only 2.5 sacks, and the Falcons are from all indications not interested in bringing him back. Umenyiora, however, has indicated he would like to continue playing, saying he has "zero plans to retire."
The Giants were said to be exploring the market for pass-rushers when free agency began, and had interest in players like Brandon Grahm and Adrian Clayborn.
In our poll last month, 54 percent (1,420) of 2,637 voters said they hoped the Giants would NOT bring Umenyiora back.
Still, the Jets? Really?
