Antrel Rolle has advanced in the in the first round of our New York Giants free agency bracket challenge, defeating Kareem McKenzie. Barely. Rolle, the top seed, got 52 percent (993) of the 1,899 votes cast to eek past the eighth-seeded McKenzie and into the semifinal round.

What we are doing here, in case you missed out on voting in this poll, is using a March Madness style bracket to determine who you believe is the Giants best free-agent signing of all time. Players the Giants traded for (like O.J. Anderson) or signed as undrafted free agents (like Victor Cruz) are not included.

This was a much closer vote than yours truly anticipated. Rolle was seeded No. 1 largely because of the freshness of his time with the Giants. Honestly, the expectation was that Rolle would easily defeat McKenzie, the least recognized member of the offensive line during his seven seasons with the Giants.

Rolle now awaits the winner of the upcoming match-up between fourth-seeded Shaun O'Hara and fifth-seeded Kerry Colllins. That vote will take place on Wednesday.
