Antrel Rolle said Tuesday that "The hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life is leave the New York Giants ... it's been family."
Rolle, a regular guest over the years with Joe and Evan on WFAN, appeared one last time on the show Tuesday afternoon to say his goodbyes.
"I am a New York Giant. No matter what uniform I am wearing on Sunday I am a New York Giant," Rolle said.
Rolle told Joe and Evan that the Giants did make him an offer "very late" in the free-agent process, but that he was already in Chicago ready to sign with the Bears. He did not say what the Giants' offer was.
"Not saying they didn't want me back, but if I was a top, top priority something would have been done," Rolle said. "The Giants didn't owe me anything."
Rolle said the other team that he considered signing with was the Washington Redskins.
Rolle told Joe and Evan that "Antrel Rolle cannot be replaced in that defense ... No one will ever know what "'ve had to do in my time as a New York Giant."
