Rolle had consistently expressed a desire to stay in New York, and the Giants had said they wanted him back at the "right price." As of Tuesday morning, however, word was that the team and the player had not communicated since the end of thge 2014 season.
Maybe it's not surprising that the Giants have apparently not made an effort to keep Rolle, 32. They have a history of not over-paying for aging players. The five players they signed on Tuesday are all under the age of 30. It has to be surprising, however, that the Giants apparently have made no move at all to at least find out what Rolle's asking price would be.
The Giants also lost cornerback Walter Thurmond, who has reportedly signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.
