Most of the New York Giants' free agency news this afternoon has been concentrated on the signing of Shane Vereen and speculation about what free agent safety the Giants will -- hopefully -- land.
But with roughly 90 minutes to go until free agency opened, word got out that the Giants had re-signed running back Chris Ogbonnaya.
And fans thought NYG slept in this weekend. MT @DanGrazianoESPN: In much smaller RB news, the Giants will be re-signing Chris Ogbonnaya.

Ogbonnaya was originally brought in when the rash of injuries the Giants suffered last season extended to the backfield. In short order the Giants lost Rashad Jennings, Peyton Hillis, and Michael Cox. They brought in Ogbonnaya and Orleans Darkwa to replace them. Though he only played in two games for the Giants, it seems as though Ogbonnaya made a favorable impression as the Giants have at least committed to bringing him into camp in 2015.
We'll all have to stay tuned to see what, if anything, this means for Ogbonnaya, the Giants' offense, and the rest of the Giants' free agency.
